This November, Oakmont Memorial Park invites the community to take part in its annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration, a cherished tradition that honors the lives of those who have passed. The event will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 12:00 to 6:00 pm at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette. Admission is free and open to all. Bring your family and friends!
Día de los Muertos, rooted in Indigenous and Mexican traditions, transforms mourning into a joyful and meaningful celebration of life. Families honor their loved ones by building ofrendas (altars) adorned with photos, marigolds, candles, and offerings of favorite foods.
This year’s celebration will feature:
A community altar where guests may contribute photos of their loved ones
Live mariachi music
Aztec and folkloric dance performances
The popular Catrín & Catrina costume competition
Face painting, Traditional Mexican cuisine and other international favorites, and family activities for all ages
Lots of local artisan vendors...and more.
Oakmont Memorial Park welcomes families, friends, and neighbors to gather for this vibrant cultural celebration of remembrance and connection.
